Basak is a graphic designer, art director
and writer based in Istanbul. Her background
and experience makes her a versatile, passionate
and grounded person to work with.
Earning a BA in Film, Writing & Photography from Emerson College, Boston, and an Associated Science degree in Graphic Design from Parson’s School of Design, New York, Basak has always been passionate about the versatility of visual arts and the profundity of literature.
In New York, she created her own social stationery line that sold at stores such as Kate’s Paperie and Museum of Arts & Design. In Istanbul, she has been a freelance designer, collaborating with ad agencies in addition to contributing to publications such as Lux Guides and Secret Decks as writer and editor.
She can’t start the day without coffee. She prefers stripes over stars, summer over winter, dogs over cats. Besides her passion for beauty and Empathia Creative, she is a frequent dinner-party-thrower, traveler, simple-pleasure-appreciator, piano player, cocktail enthusiast, struggling french speaker and a loving aunt.
